I recently opened a new Etsy shop where I sell vintage goods and antiques. The antiques market has been pretty soft for a while now, and I know I have to connect with a younger consumer group, while still selling old stuff. I decided that my brand would be bright and retro with a slight contemporary feel. My intent is to attract folks who might prefer retro over bona fide antiques, as well as those who have contemporary homes but like to use cool retro vintage as accent pieces and kitschy decor. I created these visual pieces to help establish my brand. Notice the consistent use of images, colors, and fonts? Together, they establish a specific ‘feel’ to my business image. I also have business cards that use these colors and images, and my Twitter page uses a similar header and background.
Consistency and frequency are key here. I hope these examples help you visualize the ‘who’ and ‘what’ of Vintage on the Ridge.
